Bandhni Butterfly (2021)
My father owned an illustrated book of fairy tales from the 1920s, which has been one of my favourite pieces of inspiration. When I was younger, I would always go through my grandmother's sarees and soon grew to love the versatility of Indian fabrics. To emulate the same belief, I turned fabric with Bandhani print, a type of tie-dye textile practiced in western India, into butterfly wings — fantasy, but in an Indian context.
